I contacted Laura when I was dealing with some tension related to misaligned posture. Due to Covid-19, we met remotely over Zoom. Laura’s insights were invaluable and I was given exercises to try at home that have made a real difference. Laura’s instruction is clear and illustrative. She has a lovely way of talking about the body, the way it moves, and inhibiting tensions and habits. I can’t wait to meet with her in person for a hands-on experience!

The technique is great because it really opened up my body. I feel more confident, both in my body and in my voice, which, as an actor, makes a huge difference. Laura is great because she explains what she’s doing and why she’s doing it. She meets you where you are. And she tailors each lesson to your individual needs and goals. She gave me some great pre-audition tips and techniques to ground myself, control my breathing, and focus my energy. And because I’m more aware of my body, what it’s doing, and my habits, I can self regulate and self correct to move more efficiently. I’ll never brush my teeth and wash my dishes the old way again. Laura’s enthusiasm is contagious, her humor is delightful, and her care is comforting. The weeks I spent working with Laura absolutely helped me as an actor and I can’t recommend her or the technique enough.

I’m so grateful that I found Laura and the Alexander Technique! I have been studying the AT with Laura for 6 months and it has been a major game changer for my life and my singing career. Laura is an incredible teacher and her passion for the Techinque is evident in every lesson. Through my lessons with Laura, I have identified a number of habits that have been causing me bodily pain and limiting my vocal freedom. Laura has magic hands that melt away my tension and I always feel lighter than air after working with her. I recently gave a doctoral voice recital and I was so grateful to have Laura by my side as my secret weapon against tension and performance anxiety! The tools she has given me will stay with me for the rest of my life and I truly believe the principles of the AT will help me avoid pain as I grow older. Thank you for giving me this gift, Laura!

Laura has provided me with an awareness to develop mastery over my psychophysical habits. She seems to have produced a secondary brain in her hands which allows her to work well With you. All in all, she has taught me that the adjustment of habit can be effortless and simplistic, and will have benefits long term. She is great and she provides an environment that is comfortable and inviting. A lovely time spent.

Laura is a wonderful Alexander Technique teacher. She is very kind, attentive and extremely well trained! She is a natural teacher and immediately makes me feel at ease in her classroom space.

I have Multiple Sclerosis which causes numbness in my feet/pins and needles throughout my legs and the base of my spine. It has been difficult to find methods to ease this discomfort until Laura. Not only do I feel SO much better after a lesson with her, but she has given me many useful exercises to ease my discomfort at home. She has made me much more aware of my everyday use. Laura demonstrates her massive wealth of knowledge about the body and it’s use every session, while also creating a calm and supportive space to unwind.

I would highly recommend Laura’s teaching to not only people who are suffering from pain/tension, but any artist (musician, actor, painters, etc...) who want to be more present in their craft. Alexander Technique with Laura has changed the way I move through the world and I am forever grateful!

As a visual artist with a focus on portraiture and figure drawing, I spend a lot of time observing people in the world. I wanted to take a deeper dive into the relationship between posture and emotion so that I can better understand and represent the stories people are telling with their bodies. At the end of a two-hour call with Laura I had a better understanding of how those stories manifest in our movement and posture and the relationship we each have with our bodies. To say that the call was enlightening and wildly fun and interesting would be an understatement. Laura’s deep knowledge and clear passion for her work is contagious and I left our conversation wishing I could spend another 10 hours with her. I’ll be using what she taught me to be a better artist, to teach other artists more thoughtfully about the body and as food for thought in understanding my own relationship with my body. If you get a chance to work with Laura, don’t hesitate! No matter what you do or what you’re hoping to learn, you’ll be better for it!
