Laura Parker, Soprano, grew up in Southern California and her local credits include performing with LA Opera, Long Beach Opera, Lyric Opera of San Diego, and OperaWorks. She has also appeared as a  guest artist with the San Diego Symphony, Redlands Symphony, and Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra. Outside of California, Laura has performed in New York with Dicapo Opera, Liederkranz Opera Theatre, and Beth Morrison Projects, as well as abroad in London and St. Maarten.

Laura specializes in operatic improvisation and has combined her training as a classical singer with training as an improviser.  

 She studied improvisation at Magnet Theater, iO West, UCB, and Second City Hollywood and has musically improvised with OperaWorks at Classical Singer National Conventions, Opera America, the Hollywood Ford Amphitheater, and a Facebook live feature for Tinder. In 2015, she joined the OperaWorks faculty, teaching improvisation. She has been a member of the musical theater faculty as a voice teacher at Hussian College and AMDA-DTLA,

Laura is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. She holds vocal performance degrees from Boston University (BM, summa cum laude) and USC.
